Diagnosis
This is an intentional feature, not a malfunction. On the Mi Scooter 4 Pro, cruise control is designed to engage automatically after you maintain a constant throttle position and speed for approximately 10-15 seconds, which is indicated by a beep and a cruise control icon on the display.
How to Fix It
Since there is no official "on/off" toggle in the standard firmware or Mi Home app, you must manage it manually. To immediately cancel an active cruise control session, either gently squeeze the brake lever or momentarily release and re-engage the throttle. To prevent it from engaging in the first place, consciously vary your speed every 8-10 seconds by slightly easing or increasing the throttle.
If That Didn't Work
If cruise control activates erratically, like after only a few seconds or at inconsistent speeds, there may be a hardware issue. A faulty throttle unit can send a "stuck" signal, or a problematic speed sensor can misread wheel RPM. Check for physical throttle stickiness and inspect the wheel magnet and sensor alignment for damage or debris.

Unintended cruise control is a significant safety hazard, especially in dense traffic or on crowded paths. Make the cancellation actions—a light brake or throttle tap—a reflexive habit. Always maintain a ready posture to brake firmly if needed.
