Diagnosis

The most common cause of a loud front-wheel clicking on the Mi Scooter 4 Pro is a loose or damaged front fender. The plastic fender is mounted with two bolts to the fork. When these bolts loosen, the entire fender rattles and can click or tap against the tire, especially over bumps. A cracked fender will flex and make the same noise.

How to Fix It

1. Turn the scooter off and flip it over so it rests on the handlebars and rear fender.
2. Locate the two hex bolts securing the front fender from underneath, where it attaches to the fork legs.
3. Using the provided 4mm hex key or a precise tool, firmly tighten both bolts. Ensure you are turning the bolt head, not the nut on top.
4. Check for any visible cracks in the plastic around the bolt holes or where the fender arches over the tire.
5. Gently try to wiggle the fender; it should be solid with no movement.

If That Didn't Work

If the noise persists after tightening, inspect further. Remove the fender to check for hidden cracks. Also, examine the front axle nut for tightness and ensure the wheel bearings are not damaged by spinning the wheel and listening for a gritty grind. Finally, check that the brake caliper and its mounting bolts are secure, as a loose caliper can shift and click.

Never ignore this noise. A severely cracked fender can deform and jam into the spinning tire, causing an instant front-wheel lockup and a serious crash. Replace a cracked fender immediately. When tightening bolts into plastic threads, use moderate force to avoid stripping them.
