Diagnosis
The sound detection needs tuning. It's either not sensitive enough for your baby's specific cry, or it's too sensitive and picking up ambient white noise as a trigger.
How to Fix It
In the Cubo app, go to Alert Settings > Cry Detection. First, make sure it's actually turned on. Then, adjust the sensitivity slider. Start in the middle. If it's missing cries, increase sensitivity. If it's triggering for other sounds, decrease it. Also, use the "Sound Alert Preview" feature—it lets you hear what the camera is picking up in real-time, which is great for diagnosing if the mic itself is working.
If That Didn't Work
The placement of the camera relative to the noise source matters. If the camera is right next to a loud humidifier or air purifier, it'll drown out or mimic a cry. Move the camera further from constant white noise machines, or reposition the noise machine itself. Also, check that the microphone hole on the front of the camera isn't blocked by a cobweb or dust.
Heads Up
The cry detection AI is trained on general infant cries, but some babies have quieter or more unique cries it might not catch consistently, especially very young newborns. Don't rely on it as a sole monitor; think of it as a helpful backup. The background audio stream is your primary tool.
