Classic disconnect or blockage issue. When the upright works but the hose doesn't, the problem is isolated to the hose, wand, or the connections.
Fix:
- Detach the hose and wand completely from the Lift-Away canister.
- Check that both ends of the hose are clicked securely into their ports on the canister and the wand. A loose connection kills suction.
- Look for a blockage. Shine a light through the hose and wand. You'll often see a clump of debris stuck at a bend.
- Manually remove any blockage. The hose is designed for you to clear obstructions as a maintenance measure. Work it loose with your hands or a long, flexible tool.
If that didn't work: There might be a crack or tear in the hose itself. Inspect the entire length, especially near bends and connections, for damage. A damaged hose needs replacement.
Heads up: When using the hose attachments, make sure you've selected the correct port on the canister and that the vacuum is in "Hose" mode, not "Floor" mode.
