Diagnosis
The interior light on your Chefman 6 Quart Dual Basket Air Fryer Oven cycling on and off during cooking is normal and intentional. The light is integrated with one of the heating elements. To maintain precise temperature control and energy efficiency, the appliance cycles its heating elements on and off. When the element associated with the light deactivates during a cycle, the light also turns off. This does not mean cooking has stopped.
How to Fix It
No repair is required. To confirm operation is normal:
- Listen for the fan, which should run continuously during a cook cycle.
- Feel for heat emanating from the vents.
- Observe that the timer and temperature display remain active on the control panel.
If That Didn't Work
If the entire unit (fan, heating, and control panel) shuts off unexpectedly, you have a different issue.
- Firmly unplug the air fryer, inspect the power cord for kinks or damage, and plug it directly into a wall outlet (avoid power strips).
- Ensure the baskets are correctly seated and the door is fully closed, as some models have a safety switch.
- Try a simple reset by unplugging the unit for 2 minutes, then starting a new cook cycle.
Heads Up
Avoid staring directly into the interior light, as it is very bright. Also, never attempt to manually replace or repair the interior light yourself, as it is part of a sealed heating assembly and involves high-voltage components.
