DIAGNOSIS The slim tip cleaner head has an independent LED and laser circuit. Failure is usually a connection issue or debris blockage, not a laser diode failure.
FIX Detach the cleaner head. Remove the soleplate by undoing the two quarter-turn fasteners. Use a can of compressed air to blow out any dust from around the laser aperture and the LED window. Reassemble, ensuring the head clicks firmly into the wand.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK Check the electrical contacts on the cleaner head and the end of the wand. Clean them with a dry cotton swab. Corrosion or lint can break the low-voltage circuit for the laser.
HEADS UP The laser is designed to turn off automatically when the cleaner head is tilted past 90 degrees. Testing it while the vacuum is upright on a flat surface is essential.
