The release latch is either obstructed or not being fully depressed. Find the release button or lever on the main upright body.
- Ensure the vacuum is upright and turned off.
- Clear any debris from around the release mechanism.
- Press the release button firmly and hold it while lifting the canister pod away from the upright section.
- If it's a lever, pull it fully.
If that didn't work, inspect the tracks where the pod slides. Look for foreign objects or damage. Manually clear any obstructions.
Heads up: Never try to detach the pod by force. You could damage the locking mechanism permanently.
