DIAGNOSIST The self-winding rewind mechanism is jammed. This is usually caused by the cord being pulled out at an extreme angle or a knot forming inside the compartment.
FIX Manually assist and reset the rewind. 1. Unplug from the outlet. 2. Press the cord rewind button. 3. As the cord retracts, gently guide it straight into the inlet with your hand to prevent bunching. Let it fully retract.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK A knot has formed inside. You must open the cord compartment. Unplug. Locate the screws on the rear cord housing. Remove them to open the cover. Untangle any knots in the cord and ensure it is wound neatly around the spool. Reassemble.
HEADS UP Always pull the cord straight out from the vacuum body. Pulling it out at a sharp angle is the primary cause of rewind failures.
