Diagnosis
This is almost always a foreign object lodged in the gear drive of the front motor. The Model One uses a geared hub motor, not direct drive.
How to Fix It
Turn the scooter off. Tilt it back. Manually spin the front wheel and inspect the gap between the wheel rim and the motor housing. Use a flashlight. Remove any visible debris (pebble, stick, wire) with tweezers or a thin tool. Spin the wheel again to confirm noise is gone.
If That Didn't Work
The noise may indicate internal gear damage. Check for lateral play in the front wheel by gripping the tire and trying to wiggle it side-to-side. Any significant movement points to a bearing or gear failure requiring service.
Heads Up
Do not hose down or pressure wash the wheel. Water forced into the motor housing can wash lubricant from the gears and cause this failure. Clean only with a damp cloth.
