DIAGNOSIS This is typically a grime issue. Over time, microscopic grease, steam, and food particles can seep around the edges of the membrane touch buttons, making them sticky or unresponsive.
FIX 1) Unplug the unit and let it cool. 2) Dampen a soft cloth with warm water and a tiny drop of dish soap. Wring it out completely—it should be barely damp. 3) Gently but thoroughly wipe the entire control panel, paying special attention to the seams around each button. 4) Follow immediately with a cloth dampened with only clean water to rinse, then dry with a microfiber cloth. Let it air dry for an hour before plugging back in.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK If the problem is only with one button (like 'Start/Stop'), it could be a failing membrane switch. In that case, the fix is a control panel replacement, which means contacting Instant Brands customer support.
HEADS UP Never spray cleaner directly onto the control panel. That liquid can seep inside and cause permanent damage. Always apply cleaner to the cloth, not the appliance.
