DIAGNOSIS Moisture or cleaning product residue has seeped under the capacitive touch panel, causing a short or phantom touches. This is common if the control panel is wiped with a wet cloth.
FIX Unplug the washer immediately. Dry the control panel thoroughly with a dry, microfiber cloth. Use a hair dryer on a cool setting to evaporate any residual moisture around the button edges. Allow 24 hours to fully dry before plugging back in.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK A power surge may have corrupted the main control board. Perform a hard reset. Unplug the machine for 5 minutes. While unplugged, press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds. Replug and test.
HEADS UP Never spray cleaners directly on the console. Dampen a cloth first, then wipe. Condensation from hot washes can also cause this. Ensure the room is well-ventilated.
