Diagnosis
The water inlet valve screen is clogged with sediment or the water pressure to the refrigerator is insufficient. A slow stream indicates a blockage before the dispenser solenoid.
How to Fix It
Shut off the water supply at the shut-off valve. Disconnect the water line from the inlet valve at the back of the refrigerator. Inspect the small filter screen inside the valve port. Use needle-nose pliers to gently remove it. Rinse the screen under water to clear debris. Reinstall the screen and reconnect the line. Turn water back on and flush the system by dispensing water into a container for 2 minutes.
If That Didn't Work
Check the household water line pressure. It must be between 20 and 120 psi. Low pressure (below 20 psi) will cause a weak stream. Also, the water filter may be clogged or incorrectly installed. Replace the filter and ensure it clicks fully into place.
Heads Up
The water filter has a finite capacity. Replace it every 6 months. A clogged filter will cause low flow and can trigger the replace filter indicator on the display.
