DIAGNOSIS Water is escaping from either the internal drain hole (normal during defrost) or a loose connection. A constant leak points to an overfill or a cracked hose.
FIX First, check the drain plug.
- Unplug the unit and pull it forward. Look at the back, near the bottom.
- There is a small rubber drain plug. Ensure it is pushed in fully and seated tightly. If it's loose or missing, water from the defrost cycle will leak out.
- Dry the area completely, plug the unit back in, and run it. Monitor for new leakage.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK If leaking continues, the internal water line from the reservoir to the pump may have a crack or disconnection. This requires disassembly. Before going that far, double-check that you are not overfilling the reservoir past the MAX line, as excess water can spill internally.
HEADS UP Some water dripping from the bottom during the defrost cycle (every few hours) is normal. Place the unit on a waterproof tray or mat if your counter is sensitive. Never operate it on a surface you can't get wet.
