If the unit is not perfectly level, water that is meant to be recycled or drained into the reservoir can overflow the internal catchment basin, leading to puddles on your countertop. Another common culprit is the rubber drain plug located at the bottom of the unit. This plug is designed to be removed for deep cleaning or emptying the internal basin, but if it has shifted or become partially dislodged due to vibration during the ice-making cycle, water will seep out slowly. You can confirm this by placing a dry paper towel under the unit; if the water concentrates specifically around the rear center-bottom, it is almost certainly the drain plug. If the water is spreading from the front or sides, it is likely a reservoir seal issue or a cracked internal feed line.

How to Fix It

To stop the leak and restore the unit's integrity, follow these precise steps:

1. Disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet immediately to prevent electrical shorts, as water is pooling near the base.
2. Carefully lift the unit and flip it over or tilt it 45 degrees to access the bottom chassis. Locate the circular rubber drain plug situated in the center of the base.
