why is my dyson ball animal 2 so hard to push on my carpet?

— asked by Dave

You're probably using the wrong suction setting for your carpet type. There's a slider on the front of the Motorbar cleaner head.

  1. First, check the slider position. For deep- or medium-pile carpets and delicate rugs, it should be all the way to the left.
  2. If it's already on the left and it's still hard to push, turn the brush bar off. The brush bar control button is on the left side, between the handle and bin. Turn it off for deep pile carpets.

If that didn't work, there might be a blockage in the cleaner head itself. You'll need to unplug, let it cool, and remove the cleaner head to check the brush bar and airway.

Heads up: Always check your carpet manufacturer's cleaning instructions first. Some rugs can fuzz if you use the rotating brush bar.
