DIAGNOSIS The eero Pro 6E runs warm—it's normal due to its powerful multi-band radios and processor. It's designed to operate at these temperatures.
FIX Ensure proper ventilation. Don't stack items on top of it, place it on a hard surface (not carpet or fabric), and keep at least a few inches of clearance on all sides, especially the top vent.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK If it feels excessively hot (uncomfortable to hold), check for a software bug. A full power cycle (unplug for 30 seconds) can sometimes resolve a process that's causing the CPU to overwork.
HEADS UP The warmth is a design trade-off for performance. It will not catch fire under normal operation. However, do not enclose it in a cabinet or bookcase as that can lead to thermal throttling and reduced speed.
