DIAGNOSIS If the washer completes the cycle but leaves clothes dripping, the spin function failed. This could be due to an unbalanced load (which cancels the spin), a failed lid switch, a clogged drain (so it never got to spin), or a problem with the motor coupler or drive system.
FIX Run through the checklist. 1) First, listen. Did you hear a high-speed spinning noise at the end of the cycle? If not, it never tried. 2) Check for an error code like F21 (drain) or a blinking lid lock light. 3) Run a drain/spin cycle by itself. If it works, your regular cycle likely had a load balance issue. If it doesn't work, you're back to checking the drain system (see the F21 fix) or the drive system.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK If the machine drains fine but you hear the motor humming loudly without the basket spinning fast, that points directly to a broken drive coupler. It's a common wear item that connects the motor to the transmission. When it strips, the motor runs but can't turn the basket for a proper spin.
HEADS UP Don't run load after load hoping it'll fix itself. Soaking wet clothes put a huge strain on your dryer and can mean your washer isn't draining properly, which leads to mold and smell issues. Diagnose it before the next load.
