DIAGNOSIS That single beep with no display usually means the control board is getting some power, but the main user interface (the part you press) isn't communicating. It's often a failed control panel or a loose connection, but you should check the basics first.
FIX Start with the simple power checks. 1) Make sure the washer is plugged in firmly at the wall outlet. 2) Check your home's circuit breaker or GFCI outlet to ensure it hasn't tripped. 3) Try a different appliance in that same outlet to confirm it's live. 4) If power is confirmed, press and hold the 'Start' button for 3-5 seconds. Sometimes a simple control reset can wake it up.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK If power is good and a reset does nothing, the issue is internal. The connection between the main control board (under the top lid) and the user interface panel can come loose. A failing control board itself is also a possibility on these models. Both require removing the console to diagnose.
HEADS UP Before you start taking things apart, do the full power check. It sounds obvious, but a tripped GFCI in the garage or laundry room is the most common fix for a 'dead' appliance. If you open the console, unplug the machine first and take a picture of the wire connections before you disconnect anything.
