No, you cannot connect your Honda EU2200i to your old Champion generator to get more power. Connecting to an incompatible generator can cause serious damage.
The Honda EU2200i is only approved for parallel operation with specific models using an official Honda parallel cable kit. The approved pairings are:
- An EU2200i or EU2200i Companion with another EU2200i Companion.
- An EU2200i or EU2200i Companion with an EU2000i or EU2000i Companion, but only if that EU2000i has a serial number within specific ranges: EAAJ-2017305 and later, or EACT-1000001 and later.
You must never connect an EU2200i to a different generator model other than the ones specified above.
HEADS UP: If you need more than 1.8 kVA from the 30-amp twist-lock receptacle on some EU2200i models, you must have another compatible EU2200i or EU2200i Companion connected in parallel with the official cable.
