The Oil Alert/Check indicator means the oil level is too low. Running it like this will cause severe engine damage.
Fix: Stop the engine immediately. Let it cool for a few minutes. Place the generator on a level surface, remove the maintenance cover, and check the oil level via the filler neck. Add SAE 10W-30 oil (or equivalent) to bring the level to the upper limit. Do not overfill. Secure the cap and cover before restarting.
If That Didn't Work: The same indicator also comes on if the CO-MINDER system stops the engine. If you added oil but the engine won't restart and a different light is flashing, refer to the CO-MINDER reset procedure.
Heads Up: Check the oil level before each use. Use 4-stroke automotive detergent oil, API service category SJ or later. The system is designed to protect the engine, but you must respond to the warning.
