You can use fuel with limited ethanol content. The engine is certified for regular unleaded gasoline with a pump octane rating of 86 or higher.
Fix: Acceptable fuel specifications:
- Unleaded gasoline with no more than 10% ethanol (E10).
- Unleaded gasoline with no more than 5% methanol, provided the methanol contains cosolvents and corrosion inhibitors.
If That Didn't Work: Never use gasoline that is stale, contaminated, or mixed with oil. Avoid getting dirt or water in the fuel tank. Using fuel with ethanol or methanol percentages higher than specified can cause starting problems, performance issues, and damage to metal, rubber, and plastic fuel system parts. Such damage is not covered under warranty.
Heads Up: For infrequent use, refer to the storage chapter regarding fuel stabilizer, as gasoline deteriorates over time and can cause operational issues.
