This means the control board is no longer receiving a signal from the NTC (Negative Temperature Coefficient) thermistor, which is the sensor responsible for measuring the internal heat. Because the air fryer cannot verify the temperature, it shuts down as a safety precaution to prevent overheating or fire.
How to Fix It
While this is typically a hardware failure, you can attempt a hard reset to clear any temporary electronic glitches:
- Immediately turn off the unit and unplug it from the wall outlet.
- Allow the appliance to cool down completely for at least 30 minutes. This ensures any residual heat doesn't trigger a false sensor reading.
- Inspect the power cord for any visible damage or frays that could be affecting the electrical flow.
- Plug the unit directly into a wall outlet (avoid using power strips or extension cords, which can cause voltage drops).
- Power the unit on. If the display returns to the home screen, the error was a temporary glitch.
If That Didn't Work
If the E1 code persists after a reset, the temperature sensor is physically broken or a wire has disconnected internally. Because the L501 is a sealed unit, this is not user-serviceable.
