You need to clean it carefully to remove food debris and prevent smoke. First, safety: turn off, unplug, and let the air fryer cool completely.
- Pull out the basket for faster cooling.
- Clean the inside of the air fryer housing with a slightly moist, non-abrasive sponge or cloth. Do not immerse the housing in water.
- Gently clean the heating coil to remove any visible food debris. Use a dry or slightly damp non-abrasive cloth. Be careful not to bend the coil.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK: If there's stubborn grease elsewhere, make a paste of 2 tbsp baking soda and 1 tbsp water. Spread it on the basket and crisper plate, let sit 15 minutes, then scrub and rinse.
HEADS UP: Make sure the heating coil is completely dry before you turn the air fryer on again. Never use metal scouring pads anywhere on the appliance; metal fragments can cause electric shock.
