You're likely overfilling the basket or not using enough oil. Crispiness needs air flow and a little fat.
- Don't overstuff. Place smaller batches of food. If the basket is overstuffed, foods will be undercooked and soggy.
- Shake or flip. For small, stacked foods like fries or nuggets, shake the basket during cooking. Use the Shake Reminder function.
- Add a little oil. Spraying or brushing a small amount of oil on foods increases crispiness. For French fries, add ½ to 1 tablespoon of oil.
- Preheat. Always preheat unless the air fryer is already hot. 400°F for 4 minutes is the standard.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK: Increase the cooking temperature or time. Check that you're not using a container that blocks air flow—only use heat-safe containers like metal or glass.
