how do i clean my vitamix e310 blender properly? i'm worried about the sharp blades.

Diagnosis: Proper cleaning requires a specific sequence to avoid injury from the sharp blades.

Fix for the 48 oz container:

1. Turn off and unplug the blender before cleaning. This is non-negotiable to avoid inadvertent activation.
2. Fill the container half full with warm water. Add a couple drops of dish soap.
3. Secure the complete 2-part lid in the locked position.
4. Place container on base. Press Start/Stop. Slowly increase variable speed to 10.
5. Run for 30 to 60 seconds.
6. Rotate variable speed dial back to 1. Press Start/Stop.
7. Rinse and drain all pieces.

Cleaning other parts:

• Lid, lid plug, centering pad, tamper, tamper holder, blade scraper: Dishwasher safe, or wash in warm soapy water.
• Motor base: Wipe with a damp cloth only. Do not immerse in water or liquid.

Heads up: Clean around the blade assembly in the container with extreme care. Never place a blade assembly on the motor base unless it is assembled to the Vitamix container.
