Quick answer: The screen has a matte anti-glare coating. Using ammonia-based cleaners or excessive pressure will permanently damage this coating.

Diagnosis

The screen has a matte anti-glare coating. Using ammonia-based cleaners or excessive pressure will permanently damage this coating.

How to Fix It

Power off and unplug the monitor. Use a dry, soft microfiber cloth to gently wipe away dust. For smudges, lightly dampen a second microfiber cloth with distilled water. Wipe the screen gently in a circular motion. Immediately dry the screen with the dry microfiber cloth using straight, vertical strokes to minimize streaking.

If That Didn't Work

For stubborn marks, use a screen cleaner specifically formulated for monitors and LCD/LED screens. Spray a small amount directly onto the microfiber cloth, never onto the screen. Wipe gently and dry immediately.

Heads Up

Never use paper towels, tissues, or rough cloths. Never use Windex, alcohol, acetone, or other solvents. Pressure on the curved screen can cause flexing and internal damage. Always support the back of the panel with your other hand while cleaning.
