DIAGNOSIS The washable air filter is located behind the front grille, which many owners miss.
FIX
- Unplug the unit.
- Grip the sides of the front grille and pull it straight off. It's held by clips.
- Remove the rectangular foam filter.
- Rinse it under lukewarm water until clean, let it air dry completely, and snap it back into place.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK If performance is still poor after cleaning, the evaporator coils behind the filter might be clogged with dust. Use a soft brush attachment on a vacuum to gently clean them.
HEADS UP Never run the unit without the filter installed. It protects the coils and will cause the unit to ice up and fail prematurely.
