the control panel on my frigidaire dehumidifier is totally dead, no lights, nothing, but it's plugged in

— asked by Riley

DIAGNOSIS A complete power failure points to a tripped thermal fuse on the control board or a faulty power supply.

FIX

  • Unplug the unit for at least 10 minutes. This can sometimes reset the internal electronics.
  • Plug it directly into a wall outlet you know works, not a power strip or GFCI outlet.
  • Press the Power button firmly.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The internal thermal fuse may have blown permanently. This requires a control board replacement. You'll need to contact Frigidaire for service.

HEADS UP Constantly running the unit on the highest setting in a hot room can overheat the electronics and cause this failure.
