When it misfeeds, the pickup rollers are likely dusty. You'll need to access them directly. Here's how, step-by-step.
- Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord from the back.
- Remove all paper from the input tray.
- Carefully flip the printer onto its side.
- Find the blue latch, release it, and hold onto it while you remove the side panel.
- Dampen a soft, lint-free cloth with a little isopropyl alcohol or water. Wipe each roller you can see, applying moderate pressure to clean them completely.
- Wait a full 10 minutes for the rollers to dry completely.
- While holding the blue latch, align and re-insert the panel. Release the latch to lock it.
- Flip the printer back upright, reload your paper, plug it in, and turn it on.
HEADS UP: Always use paper that's in good condition—no wrinkles, tears, staples, or curled edges. That's the best way to prevent future jams.
