First, let everything cool completely. The racks are designed to be removable for cleaning, but you need to use the right technique.
Fix:
- Unplug the unit and let it cool. For faster cooling, remove the hot baskets.
- Once cool, take a basket and locate the center grip bar on the rack inside.
- Pinch that center grip bar firmly with your thumb and index finger.
- Pull the rack straight up and out of the basket. Don't twist or yank from the side.
If that didn't work: If food residue is gluing it in place, fill the basket with warm, soapy water and let it soak for 15-20 minutes to loosen the debris, then try the removal steps again.
Heads up: Never lift the rack out when it's hot, or you could burn yourself. Wash the racks and baskets with warm, soapy water. They are top-rack dishwasher safe. Do not use abrasive cleansers, as they will damage the nonstick coating.
