Diagnosis
The drip tray (or kick plate) at the bottom of the dispenser area is designed to snap in and out, but grime and spills can make it feel glued in place.
How to Fix It
It's easier than it seems. 1) Open the refrigerator door. 2) Look at the tray from above. You'll see two or three plastic tabs at the back (closest to the door). 3) Use your fingers or a flat tool like a butter knife to gently push down on those tabs while simultaneously pulling the front of the tray outward. It should pop right out. 4) Wash it in warm, soapy water. Let it dry completely before snapping it back in. Just align it and push firmly until you hear it click.
If That Didn't Work
If the tray is truly seized, it's likely due to sticky residue. Before forcing it, try this: unplug the fridge, then use a hairdryer on a low setting to gently warm the plastic around the tray for 30-60 seconds. The slight expansion can break the grip of the gunk. Then try the tab-release method again.
Heads Up
Don't try to pry it out from the front bottom edge only. You'll likely break the plastic clips. The key is depressing those rear locking tabs from above.
