Diagnosis
This is usually a moisture problem or a power glitch. Condensation can get behind the control panel, or a temporary power surge can confuse the main control board.
How to Fix It
Start with a hard reset. 1) Unplug the refrigerator from the wall outlet. 2) Wait five full minutes. This lets all the capacitors discharge and the control board fully power down. 3) Plug it back in. The display will likely go through a startup sequence. Test the controls after a minute. This clears up most ghost-touch issues.
If That Didn't Work
If the problem returns or the reset didn't help, moisture is the likely culprit. The control panel isn't easily user-serviceable, but you can try to dry it out. Unplug the fridge and use a hairdryer on its coolest setting to gently blow air around the edges of the panel for 10-15 minutes. Let the fridge sit unplugged for another hour before plugging it back in.

If the panel is physically damaged or the ghost touches persist, the main control board or the touch panel itself may need replacement. Before calling for service, check if your fridge is still under LG's warranty for sealed system and parts.
