Start with the printer's own controls. The printer must be in setup mode.
- On the printer's 1.44" color LCD display, navigate to the network settings.
- Select Wi-Fi setup. The printer supports Wi-Fi 4 (802.11 b/g/n).
- Choose your network name (SSID) and enter the password using the on-screen keyboard.
If the app (Epson Smart Panel) still can't find it, the printer and your phone/computer might be on different network bands. Ensure your router is broadcasting a 2.4GHz network; the ET-2800 does not support 5GHz.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK: Use Wi-Fi Direct as a fallback. On the printer's LCD, enable Wi-Fi Direct. This creates a direct network between the printer and your device. Connect your device to the printer's Wi-Fi Direct network, then use the app.
HEADS UP: For features like Epson Connect or voice-activated printing, the printer needs an active Internet connection via your main Wi-Fi, not just Wi-Fi Direct. Most features require an Internet connection to the printer.
