Use Device Prioritization in the Linksys app. It gives selected devices the best available bandwidth.
- Open the Linksys app and log in.
- Go to the Devices screen.
- Tap on your work laptop from the list of connected devices.
- On the device details screen, enable Prioritization.
You can prioritize up to three devices. The system runs speed checks to determine how best to distribute Wi-Fi to those devices first. Other devices share the remaining bandwidth. Prioritized devices will appear on the Dashboard.
If that didn't work, run a Speed Check from the app's main menu. This helps the system calibrate and ensures you're getting the best speeds you pay for, which directly aids the prioritization algorithm.
Heads up: Prioritization works for both wired and wireless devices. For the absolute best performance for video calls or large downloads, consider connecting your laptop directly to one of the node's Gigabit Ethernet ports with a cable.
