The pickup rollers are dirty or the paper is unsuitable.
Clean the rollers. Turn off and unplug the printer. Remove all paper. Flip the printer on its side. Release the blue latch and remove the panel. Dampen a lint-free cloth with water or alcohol. Wipe each roller with moderate pressure. Wait 10 minutes for them to dry. Reinsert the panel, lock the blue latch, and flip the printer upright.
Reload paper correctly. Use only paper that meets HP specs for laser printers. Do not use inkjet paper. Ensure it's undamaged—no cuts, tears, dust, staples, or curled edges. Do not use paper with metallic material like glitter. Load it into the input tray neatly.
If that didn't work: The paper path inside may have a debris obstruction. Check for any small scraps of paper from a previous jam and remove them.
Heads up: Operate the printer within its allowed environment: 59° to 90.5°F and 10% to 80% relative humidity. High humidity can cause paper to swell and jam.
