DIAGNOSIS The locking mechanism on the wand or the socket on the main body is not fully engaged, or a foreign object is blocking the path.
FIX 1. Inspect the red release button on the wand handle. Press it several times to ensure it is not stuck in the depressed (release) position. 2. Look into the wand socket on the vacuum body. Use a flashlight to check for small debris or a broken plastic tab. Clear any obstruction. 3. Align the wand's metal tube precisely with the socket. You should feel a distinct, solid click, not a soft tap.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The plastic locking latch inside the wand handle may be broken. This requires a replacement wand or handle assembly. Verify by trying a different wand if available.
HEADS UP Forcing the connection can break the plastic latches. Always ensure the red button has popped back out before attempting to insert the wand.
