Flashing orange light means an incompatible tool is attached or the cyclone isn't fitted correctly after filter cleaning.
- First, ensure the Pre-filter is fully dry and correctly installed. Align the arrow on the filter with the bin release button and push down securely.
- Check that the cyclone is fully seated. Push down on the cyclone until it slides into position, then push the bin base up until it clicks firmly shut.
- Make sure you're using a Dyson V8-compatible cleaner head or tool. Disconnect and reconnect the wand and tool.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK: A flashing white light also indicates the cyclone isn't fitted correctly. Remove the bin completely by pulling the red catch on the base, slide it down, and pull it off. Reattach by aligning the tabs on the bin with the grooves on the main body and sliding it up until it clicks.
HEADS UP: Filters must be bone dry—drying for at least 24 hours is non-negotiable. Using the machine with a damp filter can damage it.
