DIAGNOSIS A completely dead unit points to a lack of power reaching the main board. This is usually the outlet, the cord, or an internal safety thermal fuse that blew.
FIX Check the basics first. Plug the fryer directly into a different, known-working wall outlet. Ensure the power cord is fully inserted into the receptacle on the back of the fryer—it can seem in but not be fully seated. If it works on another outlet, your first outlet may be faulty or on a switched circuit.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The unit has a thermal fuse that can blow if it overheated in shipping or had a brief power surge. This requires internal inspection and replacement, which is not a user-serviceable part. Your next step is to initiate a warranty return or exchange with the retailer or Chefman.
HEADS UP Do not attempt to open the housing to check the fuse yourself. You will void the warranty and risk electric shock. A new unit showing zero signs of life is almost always a DOA hardware issue.
