i just got it and the wifi/app setup won't work, it never finds the device during pairing

DIAGNOSIS The most common cause is an incompatible 5GHz Wi-Fi network. The Midea Air app and device require a 2.4GHz network for setup.

FIX Ensure your smartphone is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi band. Disable cellular data during setup. Press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the dehumidifier control panel for 3 seconds until the Wi-Fi icon blinks. Follow the in-app instructions precisely.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK Perform a hard reset of the dehumidifier's Wi-Fi module. Unplug the unit. Hold the Wi-Fi button on the panel. While holding it, plug the unit back in. Continue holding the button for 5 seconds after power is restored. Release and try setup again.

HEADS UP The device will not connect if your router uses WPA3 encryption or a hidden SSID. Temporarily switch to WPA2/WPA and broadcast the SSID for initial setup.
