DIAGNOSIS The evaporator plate is not getting cold enough to freeze. The most probable cause is an ambient room temperature above 77°F (25°C) or a recently refilled water reservoir.
FIX Check the room temperature. Move the unit to a location below 77°F. Ensure it has 5-6 inches of clearance on all sides for ventilation. Verify the unit has been running for the full initial cycle time of 6-8 minutes without interruption. Do not open the lid during this cycle.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The water pump may be failing to lift water to the evaporator. Listen for a faint whirring sound immediately after a cycle starts. If absent, unplug the unit and check the water intake filter at the bottom of the reservoir for blockage.
HEADS UP The first batch of ice after a long period of disuse can take up to 20 minutes. This is normal for the system to reach optimal temperature.
