it's making really small, thin ice or a slush instead of solid cubes

— asked by Alex

DIAGNOSIS Incomplete freezing cycles produce under-formed ice. The core issue is water freezing on the evaporator plate too quickly or too slowly, often due to ambient temperature or cycle interruption.

FIX First, adjust the ice thickness setting. Press the ‘Ice Size’ button to cycle through settings. Use the thickest setting. Second, ensure the room temperature is stable and within the 50°F to 90°F operating range. A room that is too hot prevents proper freezing.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The unit may be restarting cycles prematurely. Check that it is not being unplugged or that the ‘Ice Making’ button is not being pressed during a cycle. A full cycle takes 6-8 minutes.

HEADS UP Using water colder than 50°F in the reservoir can cause flash-freezing and thin ice. Use tap water at room temperature for optimal results.
