DIAGNOSIS The washer is stuck in the initial "sensing" part of the cycle where it tries to weigh the load. This is usually caused by a failure in the motor control unit or the position sensor (called the "hall sensor") that tells the board where the agitator is.
FIX Try a hard reset first. Unplug the washer from the wall for 5 full minutes. Plug it back in and try a simple, small load cycle. If it's still stuck, the issue is likely internal. On this model, a failed hall sensor is a known culprit. It's a small magnetic sensor on the motor that counts rotations. If it fails, the board never gets the "okay to proceed" signal.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The main control board itself could be faulty. Before replacing it, check all the wiring harness connections between the motor and the control board for any obvious damage or disconnections.
HEADS UP Don't let it sit and agitate for hours trying to figure itself out. This can overheat the motor. If a reset doesn't fix it within a few minutes, unplug it and investigate further.
