DIAGNOSIS That's classic unbalanced load noise. The WTW5000DW has a built-in vibration sensor, but heavy items like blankets or a single pair of jeans can still get stuck on one side of the deep agitator.
FIX Pause the cycle. Open the lid (it will stop spinning). Redistribute the clothes manually, pulling items away from the center agitator and spreading them evenly around the outer tub. Close the lid and press start. It should re-balance and spin quietly. For future loads, mix large and small items and don't stuff it to the absolute max.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK If the noise is a consistent metallic grinding regardless of load, the drive coupling or transmission might be damaged. But rule out something simple first: check under the washer for loose change or a bra underwire that fell between the inner and outer tub.
HEADS UP Letting it spin violently out of balance repeatedly can damage the suspension rods and shock absorbers that hold the inner tub, leading to a much more expensive fix.
