DIAGNOSIS The infrared ice-full sensor, located above the basket, is being tricked. This is usually caused by frost buildup on the sensor window or ice piles being too tall.
FIX Unplug the unit. Locate the small plastic sensor window (a little lens) on the inside wall, above where the ice basket sits. Wipe it completely clean and dry with a soft cloth. Also, break up any large clumps of ice in the basket so the pile is more level and lower.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The basket might not be seated perfectly. Remove it and re-insert it, ensuring it clicks into the guides correctly. A misaligned basket changes the distance to the sensor.
HEADS UP The sensor detects the top of the ice pile, not weight. For maximum yield, occasionally shake the basket to settle the ice and create a lower, denser pile before it triggers the "full" signal.
