linksys velop keeps blinking purple, it's been like this for an hour, is it stuck?

— asked by Chloe

Yeah, a blinking purple light means setup is in progress. If it's been an hour, it's likely stuck.

Here's how to get it moving again:

  1. First, kill power to the node by sliding the power switch to off.
  2. Wait a full minute.
  3. Turn the power back on.
  4. Open your Linksys app and see if it prompts you to resume or restart setup. Follow the in-app instructions.

If that didn't work:

  • If you're adding this node to an existing system, you might need to factory reset all nodes and add them again after the new one is working. It's a hassle, but sometimes necessary.
  • Ensure your phone/tablet running the app is connected to the Velop's temporary Wi-Fi network during setup, not your cellular data.

Heads up: The app needs iOS 11.4+ or Android 6+. An outdated app can cause setup hangs.
