DIAGNOSIS: The beeping and red indicator light mean your filters have reached capacity and need to be replaced.
FIX: Replace the filters and the battery.
- Shut off the cold water valve under the sink.
- Release pressure by turning on the dedicated faucet. Wait for water to stop flowing.
- Unbox the new filter cartridges. Each filter is color-coded to match its housing.
- Remove each filter housing from the system manifold by turning it to the left and pulling down. Do not remove it at an angle.
- Over the sink, open each housing by turning the bottom left and the cap right. Pour out water, pull out the old filter, and inspect the o-ring.
- Press the new, color-correct filter into the top cap, then reconnect the bottom. Hand-tighten only.
- Reattach each housing to the manifold. Push up while turning right until you feel a 'click'. Ensure they are not on an angle and are aligned per your model's diagram.
- Open the battery compartment, remove the old battery tray, and insert the new one. The system will beep five times and blink red when it's correct.
- Slowly turn the water valve back on. Check for leaks, then flush the system for 10 minutes. Do not drink the flushed water.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK: If the beeping persists after a new battery and filters, the filter housings are likely not locked in place correctly. Remove and reattach them, ensuring a firm 'click' and proper alignment.
HEADS UP: The system is designed to alert you at 95% capacity, which is about every 6 months. The filter housing sumps themselves need to be replaced every five years to prevent leaks from deterioration.
