Diagnosis
IR (infrared) lens flare caused by the camera's own IR LEDs reflecting off a nearby surface like a window frame, wall, or insect screen.
How to Fix It
Eliminate the reflective surface.
- Physically reposition the camera so its lens is at least 6 inches away from any vertical surface.
- Angle the camera downward slightly so its IR illuminators aren't firing directly parallel to a wall.
- In the app, turn off the 'Night Vision' IR lights in the device settings and rely on ambient light if available.
If That Didn't Work
The protective lens cover might be dirty or fogged. Power off the camera and gently clean the circular lens and the surrounding IR LED windows with a lens cleaning cloth.
Heads Up
If you're mounting it inside looking through a window, you must disable IR night vision entirely, as glass will always cause a severe white reflection.
