DIAGNOSIS The vacuum's motorized cleaner head is detecting a blockage or excessive resistance, triggering the automatic shut-off to protect the motor. This is almost always caused by tangled hair or fibers wrapped around the brush bar.
FIX Clear the brush bar immediately.
- Flip the vacuum over and slide the red release latches to remove the cleaner head.
- Use scissors to cut through and remove all hair and thread wrapped around the brush bar and its ends. You need to clear the entire shaft.
- While it's off, also check the opening at the base of the vacuum (where the head attaches) for any visible debris clog.
- Reattach and try again. It should run normally.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The filter might be severely clogged, causing the motor to overwork. Remove the cyclone bin, take out the filter at the top, and wash it in cold water only. Let it dry for a full 24 hours before reinstalling.
HEADS UP Don't use the vacuum without the filter—it will damage the motor. And never wash the filter with soap or put it in the dishwasher.
