Clogged print heads. The Micro Piezo Heat-Free Technology nozzles can clog if unused.
Fix: Run the head cleaning utility.
- Access the printer maintenance utility through your computer's printer settings or the Epson Smart Panel App.
- Run the 'Head Cleaning' cycle. This uses ink from all colors.
- Print a nozzle check pattern after cleaning.
If that didn't work:
- Ink may be old or non-genuine. Epson strongly recommends genuine ink for optimal performance. All colors must be available for printing and maintenance.
- Environmental factors. Operate between 50°–95°F and 20%–80% humidity. Storage outside -4° to 104°F can damage ink.
- Print infrequently? Yields are lower when printing predominantly with one color or very seldom. The printer uses all colors for maintenance.
Heads up: The printer has a 2-year warranty, but the second year requires product registration and the use of Epson genuine ink bottles.
