Diagnosis
The continuous blinking red light on the Euhomy IM-02 indicates a "Water Low" or "Sensor Failure" state. While the light is intended to signal that the reservoir is empty, it frequently triggers even when the tank is full. This happens because the IM-02 relies on two small metal conductivity probes located at the base of the reservoir to detect the water level. When these probes develop a layer of calcium carbonate (limescale) or mineral buildup from hard water, the electrical conductivity is interrupted. The machine's control board cannot "feel" the water through this insulating layer of minerals, leading it to believe the tank is empty. This creates a logic loop where the unit refuses to engage the compressor or the water pump to prevent the motor from running dry. You can confirm this is a sensor issue if the red light persists even after you have filled the tank to the "MAX" line and waited several minutes.
How to Fix It
To resolve the sensor blockage and reset the logic board, follow these precise steps:
- Disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet to prevent any short-circuits during cleaning.
- Remove the water reservoir from the main chassis. Empty any remaining water into a sink.
- Turn the reservoir upside down. Locate the two small, silver-colored metal pins (probes) protruding from the bottom of the tank.
- Dip a cotton swab in a 50/50 mixture of white distilled vinegar and warm water. Scrub the metal probes vigorously to strip away the white mineral crust. If the buildup is heavy, use a soft-bristled toothbrush.
- Rinse the probes with fresh water and wipe them dry with a lint-free cloth.
- Fill the reservoir with filtered water exactly to the "MAX" fill line. Do not overfill, as this can cause leaking around the seal.
- Reinsert the reservoir firmly, ensuring it seats completely into the base.
- Plug the unit back in. Press the "ON/OFF" button. The red light should vanish, and the "Ice Full" light should be off, allowing the cooling cycle to begin.
If That Didn't Work
- Hard Reset the Control Board: Unplug the unit and leave it disconnected for at least 30 minutes. This allows the internal capacitors to discharge fully, clearing the error state from the volatile memory. Plug it back in and immediately press the "SELECT" button to toggle between small and large ice to "wake up" the sensor.
- Inspect the Float Switch: Check if the plastic float (the small piece that rises with the water level) is stuck against the side of the reservoir wall. If the float is jammed in the "down" position, the machine thinks it is empty. Gently jiggle the float to ensure it moves freely up and down.
- Check for Air Locks: If the red light stops but the machine still doesn't pump water, there may be an air bubble in the line. Remove the reservoir, tilt the machine slightly forward, and re-seat the tank firmly to force air out of the intake valve.
- Deep Descale the Internal Lines: If the probes are clean but the light persists, minerals may be blocking the internal pump. Fill the tank with a dedicated citric acid descaling solution, run the machine for 10 minutes, then turn it off and let it soak for 2 hours before rinsing and restarting.

- Use Filtered Water: To prevent the red light from returning, always use distilled or filtered water. Tap water with high mineral content will cause the probes to scale over again within 2-4 weeks.
- Weekly Probe Maintenance: Even if the light isn't blinking, wipe the bottom sensor probes with a damp cloth once a week to prevent buildup.
- Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Never use bleach or abrasive scouring pads on the metal probes, as scratching the surface can lead to permanent corrosion and sensor failure.
- Proper Positioning: Ensure the IM-02 is on a perfectly level surface. If the unit is tilted, the water level may not reach the probes consistently, triggering a false "Low Water" alert.
