A common culprit is a tripped GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) outlet, which is standard in most kitchens. If the outlet has tripped, the unit will appear completely dead. Additionally, the DC plug on the back of the IM-02 is notoriously shallow; it can feel as though it is seated firmly when it is actually hovering 1-2 millimeters away from the internal pins, preventing the 12V current from powering the logic board. If the LED on the power brick is off, the adapter has likely suffered a capacitor failure or a blown internal fuse.
How to Fix It
Follow these steps in exact order to isolate and resolve the power failure:
- Verify the Wall Source: Unplug the IM-02 and plug in a known-working device (like a lamp or phone charger) to the same outlet. If the device doesn't work, press the "RESET" button on the GFCI outlet until it clicks.
